Bead Walk
I walk through different neighborhoods to find beads and to check out work by other beaders. A recent walk took me to Grand Avenue in the Lake Merritt District of Oakland, California. I found beads in two stores within several blocks of each other:
The Sacred Well
Carries a variety of finished crystal, stone and metalwork pieces as well as loose precious/semi-precious stones, crystals and other magical items. A beautiful exhibit of paintings based on the Tarot adds to the ambience. 510-444-WELL; SACREDWELL.COM
Prices at both stores are affordable. The owners and staff at each store are patient, knowledgeable and willing to share information. .........................................................................................................
