ALQUIMIA handmade jewelry

Leslie Taylor is a jewelry artist and designer who works from her home studio in the Oakland Hills/ Mills College area. She sees art jewelry as a way of transforming base materials into wearable art imbued with life and her own unique expression. The artist has some formal training in fine art under her belt, and a B.A. in Industrial Arts from San Francisco State University, 2006. She has worked in the field of fine furniture design and manufacture (659design.com) and has most recently started her own line of silver and gemstone jewelry, called ALQU!M!A. Choosing jewelry as her path allows her to use her background in design as well as her artistic sensibilities. She has sold pieces in various boutiques in San Francisco and has participated in craft fairs.
